This Week In Trailers

This Week In Trailers
by Tyler Adams

It's the first week of the Fall Movie Season! Well... that also means that there are absolutely no new movies coming out. Which isn't to say there is nothing to see, as Guardians of the Galaxy is still here for us.

This week I'm also introducing a "Throwback" trailer to the list. I'll take a movie that opened the same weekend from any number years ago to highlight how great (or mediocre in this weeks case) a film was.

THROWBACK TRAILER

The Illusionist (2006) YELLOW LIGHT

"This movie got tangled up with the far superior The Prestige, making it pale in comparison but able to entertain all the same."

COMING SOON

Cymbeline YELLOW LIGHT

"They mention Shakespeare's name in the trailer, but I don't really see the connection. It's in English maybe? That's the only connection I can see."

Foxcatcher GREEN LIGHT

"Seeing two established stars like Carrel and Tatum tackle these meaty, dramatic roles really piques my curiosity."

Horrible Bosses 2 GREEN LIGHT (VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED)

"More of the same never looked so good."

Monsters: Dark Continent YELLOW LIGHT

"If you haven't seen the first one, it was good enough to land the director a gig directing the new Godzilla and even more impressively: Star Wars Episode VIII."

Seventh Son YELLOW LIGHT

"This was pushed back a year, and it looks like they spent some time making it look less silly... to some degree."

Son of a Gun GREEN LIGHT

"Ewan McGregor making a gritty crime drama... I'm in."

Shaun the Sheep YELLOW LIGHT

"Aardman is just a great studio, but this looks a little too out there for me."
