POP! Trailers

POP! Trailers
by Tyler Adams

Let's be honest. If you're going to go see a movie this weekend there a a lot of new options for you... but you should still go see Guardians of the Galaxy for the first, second, third or fourth time. It's not that everything else looks awful, it's just Guardians is really that good.

This weekend also marks the downturn in new trailers coming out, but that doesn't mean I will leave the tens of you that read this without something to do on your Fridays. You can count on me being here giving you all you need to know, as well as some thoughts as to why so many movies are just... well they're just terrible (see The Second Best Exotic Mangold Hotel below).

OPENING THIS WEEKEND

The Hundred-Foot Journey GREEN LIGHT

"This looks like a typical late in life love story, but it looks charming to me."

Into the Storm YELLOW LIGHT

"Just because a movie can be made using found footage doesn't mean it should."

Step Up All In RED LIGHT

"From the makers of I'm Poor and You're Rich, But Let's Dance Together."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles YELLOW LIGHT

"If you think this is too different from the original movies/cartoons... take a second to watch them again and then tell me this looks terrible."

COMING SOON

The Book of Life GREEN LIGHT

"The artstyle in this movie is about the most daring thing I've seen an animated studio film try since UP."

The Penguins of Madagascar GREEN LIGHT

"Smile and wave, boys."

The Second Best Exotic Mangold Hotel RED LIGHT

"Seriously!? You throw second into the title and think this was a good idea? What's next, The Second Best Little Whorehouse in Texas? And Richard Gere!? I... I just don't know anymore."
